Overview

ArtQuest offers eight Arts Specialties and ArtQuest Academic and Honors English Core classes. The ArtQuest curriculum is organized around both the California Content Standards in the Arts and the California Visual and Performing Arts Framework. Each year ArtQuest works with an interdisciplinary focus and theme. Linking learning to a central theme is an important way that AQ supports you in thinking about issues, topics and ideas that are connected to different disciplines and aspects of life, including personal, social and political realms. You work in depth in your arts area, develop high level concepts, techniques and skills, use quality materials, learn the professional vocabulary of the discipline, participate in in-depth critique and reflection, and begin to develop intense discipline and focus.

At ArtQuest, the Arts are Academic. The ideas you will be introduced to and the work you will do, will challenge and inspire you. You will be a part of the ArtQuest community where you will find other students who are as deeply interested in their art form as you are. Our dedicated Arts teachers are highly knowledgeable in their field and will challenge and support you to do your best. The skills, discipline, habits of mind, creative problem solving, critical thinking, investigative and collaborative practices that you develop in ArtQuest will support you in all areas of education, career paths, and life.
